WELCOME

WELCOME!

So . . ., you've finally found the perfect place, lots of storage, nice size rooms, all the extra amenities. But, then you're told "no painting and no making holes in the walls"! You feel all your decorating plans going out the window. What can you do to make the space your own.

Well don't despair. There are many ways to get around the restrictions and limitations and I am here to share the ways I've overcome them over the past 18yrs.

I hope you enjoy my tips and will also share your own. I'll also be sharing some of my on going projects. Once again . . .
WELCOME!!!

Surprise Gifts of Love and Frugal Treasures #17

Hello everyone! ^ _ ^  It's that time of the week again!  First I'd like to welcome to our new party people and thanks for joining us!  If you'd like to see the FEATURES just click on the link.
I didn't get around to any of my big projects this past week or weekend.  But here are some pics of my activities this past week.  First I received an unexpected gift, don't you just love surprise gifts.  My lovely niece was strolling through the thrift store and when she saw this she said it made her think of me!  Awww *blushing*  She's got good taste, huh!

I plan on painting the rim around the clock.  I'm not feeling the black at all.

Second, my dear friend that I stayed with on vacation, gave me this lovely burlap bag!

But wait, did you notice the zipper at the top!  I love the vibrant colors too!  I will need to see if  I can get the stains out.  Anyone know if its difficult to clean burlap, if so any suggestions. Not sure what I'll do with it, but the colors really compliment my kitchen roosters.  Hmmmm . . . any ideas?  You know I count on your tips and ideas! -_^

I also realized I never shared my last thrifty find from Goodwill while on vacation last month.  This pic is so cute and will get a slight makeover; not feeling the dull gold on the frame.

I love the little prints inside, the layered matte makes it almost look three dimensional.  It goes so well with my livingroom decor.  I'll share one of the smaller projects later this week in another post.  Hope your week is starting out well.  So looking forward to seeing what you'll share this week!!!
Now on to our party and of course a few rules:
  • Please link up any of your goodies(including shops and giveaways), recipes, inspirational posts, photos, projects and makeovers, pinspirations, etc . . .
  • Please keep everything family friendly (though I've never had problems with my readers, thanks)
  • Please be sure you link to your post and not your main blog page.
  • If you haven't already, I'd appreciate it if you'd become a follower-Pinterest, GFC, or Linky. (Leave a comment and I'll follow back)
  • You may add up to 3 links.
That's it other than enjoy yourself and make a new friend!  So let's get this party started . . .

  2. Hi, embarassed newbie here (Kim, the 2ndhand Moon link) Is there any chance you could delete my link? I'm a dimwit and have only ever done a link-up with inlinkz. When it asked me to upload a picture I (I blame insomnia) thought it meant some sort of a profile pic for linky, and then I would pick a picture from my blog entry to actually show up on the link-up. So now I've accidentally posted as if I thrifted myself or something and I can't seem to make it go away. So embarassing! I'm going to go read more of your nifty so I won't have to think about my dorky picture situation...

  6. Barbe. as always I really appreciate the time you take to host each week. Loved seeing the treasures you scored. I am late linking up this week. My niece was visiting for a long girls' gone junkin' and craftin' weekend so the two posts are actually the projects she completed. I am still working on my post.
I will link it if there is time. I appreciate your positive support.
