WELCOME

WELCOME!

So . . ., you've finally found the perfect place, lots of storage, nice size rooms, all the extra amenities. But, then you're told "no painting and no making holes in the walls"! You feel all your decorating plans going out the window. What can you do to make the space your own.

Well don't despair. There are many ways to get around the restrictions and limitations and I am here to share the ways I've overcome them over the past 18yrs.

I hope you enjoy my tips and will also share your own. I'll also be sharing some of my on going projects. Once again . . .
WELCOME!!!

Frugal Treasures Tuesday #15

Well it's party time again.  I've been really busy working on my little vanity.  Though it's not a big job, its taking me so long because I just can't make up my mind where I want to take it from here.  I've given it the initial 2 coats of diy chalk paint in a sort of pearl white tone.  I've sanded it and it came out so so smooth; love chalk paint. : -}

I have so many ideas as to what to do next that I've come to a stand still. : (  That ever happen to you?  What ever I decide will influence the fabric for the stool that goes with it thus want to be sure of my decision.   Aarrgghh!!!  I hate being indecisive .   So for now I will just have to be patient until it comes to me and move on to a quicky project like one of these:
I love the ladderback chair, given to me by a friend, and have been trying to find another one like it for over 2yrs.
This plant stand with basket I bought over 10yrs ago at a yard sale for 50 cents.  It's a bit worn and begging for a makeover. : )
This little wooden planter basket was left by a former tenant buried under some plants when I started clearing the beds.  It's so cute and simple and I love the patina so not wanting to totally paint it.  Thinking of just adding a bit of stenciling to it to add some personality.  What do you think, which should I start with.  I'm  leaning toward the little planter above, quick results. -_^

Now for the features from last week.  I hope you all found the time to visit the other links as there were some awesome tutorials and frugal finds this past week, so let's get started.
The link with the most clicks this week was Cap Creations for her great frugal find these Fiesta Ware dishes.

Donna at Distressed Donna Down Home took this frame to another level and made a chalkboard!

Sarah at Alderberry Hill did an awesome job with her bed to bench project.  Loving that yellow and the design in the back of the bench.

Check out this cute doll cradle found by Tricia at Thoroughly Modern Me.  I would love to use this as a planter or centerpiece.

Jeannie at Jeannie Marie & Company really scored with her thrifting treasures, especially this Homer Laughlin egg cup.  But you have to read her story about the silverware she found. LOL!

JoKnows over at Woman in Real Life really hit the jackpot.  This is only a tidbit of her many scores!

Thank you so much for sharing your projects and finds.  If you were featured, please feel free to grab my feature button below.

  4. Barbe, Thank you for featuring the Chalkboard Countess. She is proudly showing off her feature button. I posted three links this week, but for some reason the photo for the vintage postcards would not come up. Thank you for hosting! Love the vanity so far - I am surprised you have not sneaked in a color on some part of it! I love the green bottle collection with the Plaster of Paris!

  6. Barbs, you have some neat stuff to play around with and you did a great job on the table. Like me, sometimes it takes awhile to decide exactly what I want to do, so it's always best to keep moving on other projects until it hits you! Have fun and thanks for hosting.

  9. I love the little planter basket, and think a design on it would really look great. : ).. I love chalkboard paint, and the distressed look that can be made with it. One of these days, I will end up getting some grout and making my own mix. I would have to think about what I would do with the vanity too, there are just soo many possibilities out there! Can't wait to see what you end up with.
