WELCOME

WELCOME!

So . . ., you've finally found the perfect place, lots of storage, nice size rooms, all the extra amenities. But, then you're told "no painting and no making holes in the walls"! You feel all your decorating plans going out the window. What can you do to make the space your own.

Well don't despair. There are many ways to get around the restrictions and limitations and I am here to share the ways I've overcome them over the past 18yrs.

I hope you enjoy my tips and will also share your own. I'll also be sharing some of my on going projects. Once again . . .
WELCOME!!!

Everything's Coming Up Roses!

Well, my BFF and her room mate have gone.  It was an amazing week, but I will admit its taken awhile to get the wind back in my sails! LOL!!!  I spent the first 2 1/2 days after they left just sleeping.  Then Sunday evening, after my Bible meeting, I went out to Red Lobster with a good friend to just sit back enjoy a meal and talk.  We even drove over to Baskin Robbins for a scoop of icecream.   So I didn't finish any projects.  But I thought I'd share some more pics of my roses, they have been blooming profusely this year!

I love the way the lavender looks under this rose bush.

Yesterday, I went back to moving the furniture around and by this evening, everything should be in its new place. Yippee!!  I hope to get two pieces painted this week as this weekend I'll be at a 2-day Bible Assembly.  Then next week its time to pack for my trip up north so I'll be there when my new grandchild is born!!!  So I'm really going to have to get everything scheduled out.  You see when you're in an apt, you have to really plan when you move things around, even downstairs.  I like to vacuum as I move the furniture so have to time it so as not to bother the neighbors at night.  Plus when you move the furniture you usually have to re-hang pictures and such, thus again you have to get as much finished as possible before it gets late.  I like to patch any holes in the walls as I move things instead of waiting until I move out of the apt.  *Tip - if you take a chip of the paint that was there when you moved in and get it matched at HomeDepot, you can hide the small patches and will be easier to get your deposit back without painting the entire rooms*.

Tomorrow I'm planning on painting my little vanity cabinet I shared here that was given me by a friend.  We are supposed to be in the 90's tomorrow so will have to get an early start. *_*
Hope you're all having a great week!  Don't forget the Frugal Treasures party has started. : )

  2. Hi Barbe. The roses are gorgeous. Something struck on me about your 2 day assembly. Do you also attend a 3 day bible "convention" during the summer?

  3. Your flowers are gorgeous! Rest up. It is always fun to have company, but you need rest when they leave for sure.

  6. These flowers are gorgeous. I'm a sucker for roses and tried growing them on several occasions, unfortunately,I don't think they like me as much as I like them... :-)
